1 for every 100 people? California alone has over 29.7 million people. That'd be saying that 297,000 from California alone go to those shows. Yeah, it's a lot less than that. There's probably about 100-500 people from the US going there.

And also i was informed before that 30% or so of the crowd at wacken or at download is from north america

I read that wrong, but I still don't believe that they make 30% of people at Wacken and Download. Probably not even 10%.
