Nobody truly knows why marijuana was originally made illegal anymore. Some say the government thought it could cause dementia and insanity, some say it's because of corporations producing non-hemp products, some say that it's because the gov didn't want to do anything the British were doing (which isn't true because Washington and Jefferson were both hemp farmers). Anyways, I say the tobacco companies were in on it. I think it's the tobacco industries that decided marijuana should be illegal. I was trying to quit smoking at one point and, whenever I wanted a cigarette, I would go and smoke about $1 of pot and I wouldn't crave a cigarette for about 4-5 hours. That is a LOT less $ than I spend on cigarettes (about a pack a day). God damn tobacco companies.

Weve been over this on these boards before. Main reason is for hemp (businesses and materials)

I don't know why it is illegal... I think it should remain illegal, but I also think cigarettes and alcohol should be made illegal too, soooooo.

it's no conspiracy theory. it is a mind altering substance that for some reason was thought to be found dangerous. also like in previous post it is not illegal in washington and colorado. also obama has stated that he has more to worry about than people smoking pot in washington, which insinuates that the federal government wont do anything to stop the progress. the fact is if you can get it on a ballot and push the reasons why it should be legal (the main is so all the stoners can pay off your states debt) your state could legalize it. it is a revenue driver (taxes) and the biggest side effect is that it causes you to eat a lot (which will drive super market sales, in washington that means more sales tax).

yeah it's legal here now so HA! i don't even like it. It makes me all paranoid android but I have nothing against it. It should be legal. More money for our state.

As a person who has experienced alcoholism, PTS, and anxiety disorders, I must say marijuana is what is saving my life. It keeps my attitude positive, keeps me from going out and drinking, and keeps my thought process stable and clear.

I've been saying this for the last few years and especially after the last election but I'll be legal soon. Just give it another 2 - 3 years.
