Staying on point I'd love to go if I had the money and if they were closer. On the complete off-topic point, they changed their style, and became successful. They ran a risk, and it paid off for them in the long run. I would not say that's a sellout though

How is LULU selling out? if anything it was a big fuck you to the mainstream, won some respect back from me. At least they released a piece of shit they were proud of.

Props to Slaytanic for becoming a raging asshole with one comment. Great job with taking a shit all over someone being happy. Great job. I'm actually impressed. I went to the final film shoot for the 3D movie in Vancouver and Metallica sold the tickets for $5, when they easily could have charged full ticket price. As for selling out, should I list the bands that have sold out in the past and still appear on Mayhem? Hint, one of them is Slipknot. Lets include Megadeth, Lamb of God, Trivium, Machine Head, Slayer, Korn, and Anthrax on that list too. People think Mastodon sold out after Remission, just because Leviathan had clean vocals on it. Selling out is a personal opinion and if Metallica had achieved their current popularity after releasing Kill 'Em All, they could have released Reign in Blood and people would have accused them of selling out anyway simply because they sold millions of copies of their first album. That being said, did you come up with Selloutica? It's a pretty good insult name. Anyway, if Jim Jones ever comes back and reads this post, have fun at Orion. I want to go really bad.
STEVE HOLT - Steve Holt, Arrested Development. If you don't know that show, shame on you. Seriously. You're pathetic. Not really. Just go watch it.

Selling out means changing your sound cause someone told you to for money, not experimenting.

It makes me laugh how much effort people put into hating bands. Metallica blew my mind when I saw them in 2009 and I have been to countless shows and have most likely seen any great act you can name. Metallica easily the best show I have seen. I remember when I saw godsmack on 2011 mayhem and they got the most hate on the boards but the best reception at the show. No one should make anyone else feel shitty for the music they listen to because honestly what is the point. Praise what you like and keep your hating to yourself because it just makes you look bad every time. Metallica work hard and play hard and almost all of the bands everyone loves generally love metallica as well. It tends to be most bands career highlights when they get to open for metallica because metallica treats the tour mates and upcoming bands very well.
