The next big thing in metal

Personally I think this is a pretty good band. Their sound is fairly well-rounded and their songwriting is pretty focused. If I had a label I would sign them. Of course that doesn't neccessarily mean they'll get a deal anytime soon. The industry is funny, it's not about talent so much as how well/how much you promote yourself, and quite frankly image means a lot too. I'm fairly certain that Mitch Lucker's tattoos sold as many records as Suicide Silence's actual music, especially since their are better deathcore bands like All Shall Perish out there who are far less popular. But back to Sincerely the Reaper. On talent alone, this band deserves a record contract. The good news is that they likely have yet to hit their ceiling. I hate to tell a band how to write their music, but if they added melodic vocals to their choruses, they could be absolutely disgusting. Aside from that, I don't see much that they need to change. Just keep playing and writing awesome music and eventually someone with a lot of money and opportunities will notice.

Record contract? HA! i guarandamntee The Void would never sign them. And if The Void wont, no one who gives bands creative freedom will either

Well Greg, if they're as "generic" as you say they are, how much creative freedom do they need? Also I'm fairly certain that labels like Sumerian, Century Media, Metal Blade, and Nuclear Blast, as well as other metal labels, give their bands a fair amount of creative freedom.

Greg other than your points about rekkr and the void I agree with you 100%. All of them bands are good examples of bands with signature sounds and when you hear them you know it's them. To be the next big thing they have to be their own identity instead of sounding like every other band these days. Good job Greg seriously great point. If you stay like this we might respect your opinion.

@slaytanic, SLAYER does NOT headline arenas. Now, if you pair em up with Rob Zombie Or Manson or someone they will. They co-headline arenas. Name me 1 damn tour theyve done on a SLAYER headlining tour, NOT a co-headline, where they do arenas and amphitheatres. Look at their 07 or 08 tour, the dates they had by themselves they were not doing arenas. and also, unholy alliance had LOG AND Mastodon AND 2 other bands that could draw. tha is BIGGER than coheadlining. Name 1 tour Manson or Zombie or Megadeth does thats in arenas thats NOT coheadling? there are none. http://www.slayerized.com/ontheroad/tourdatabase/tourdatabase.html

No metal band fills arenas on it's own. Metallica and Slipknot are the only exceptions. The sooner we dispell this notion of metal bands headlining arenas in America, the better. We're not going to have a realistic discussion otherwise. And honestly, I like it that way. Metal should not be for the masses, at least not in this country. It has mass appeal in some parts of the world just for what it is, but if a metal band wants mainstream success in the United States, they have to pander to the masses hard. Keep that in mind the next time you argue about whether a band has "what it takes".

^there are only really 9 bands that headline without coheadlining arenas, and besides Metallica and Slipknot thats Iron Maiden,Judas Priest,Ozzy Osbourne,Black Sabbath,Tool,Rammstein, and SOAD. Bands like Zombie Manson Slayer and Megadeth only co-headline. and who cares if metal can fill arenas? thats a good thing. that doesnt mean its mainstream, it means more metalheads coming to the shows, not more general public fucktards coming

I hate when you guys sound like hipsters. Who the fuck cares if metal is mainstream or not? Fuck metal is the best Music there is and I would rather have metal mainstream than fucking lil faget wanye. For crying out fucking loud we need to stick together instead of be against eachother.
