Maybe not the next big band, but I personally think they've got the talent to make it big. And these are kids that just recently graduated from high school. www.facebook.com/sincerelythereaper

They are actually rather good for being fresh out of high school. Quite a lot of potential

they are ok... much better than rekkr or anybody greg has thrown on these boards. the lead singer sounds like a pre pubescent Alexi Laiho. i can see why they say children of bodom are a band they try to emulate. a little too symphonic for me... i caught myself wondering if i was listening to tran siberian orchestra.
You tried hard and you failed. Moral of the story is never try.

Unfortunately, they can't get rid of their vocalist. He goes and they lose their keyboardist.

GENERIC. It's not that they are untalented, it's it's the vocalist, the singerf sound sooooo generic, you know, not a signature voice whatsoever. To be in a band that will be the next big thing you have to have a signature voice and recognizable sound, these guys dont. And one thing The Void has said to all label associates, is it's all about branding the band name if you want to make it big, maybe i worded that wrong. I mean, look at the following names of the biggest metal and rock bands: Metallica, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Pantera, AC/DC, Guns N' Roses - Or newer bands like Slipknot, Disturbed, Godsmack, Avenged Sevenfold. You see the pattern here?, to be the next big thing, you have to have a signature and great name. Sincerely The Reaper, i mean, it souns lieka posthardcore band name. A band like this with a name liek that and no signature sound will NOT be the next big thing, theyd need a COMPLETE reconstruction of the format they follow. And also, i'm not saying this cause theyre young, i knew a few bands right outta high school who wrote really good lyrics and hasd good muscians and singers with signature sound. And also, metallica were like 18 or 19 as well. But, no, REKKR destroys this band.

Ok lets disprove your theory here. Good bands with bad names: 36 Crazyfists, Fair To Midland, Moonspell, La Dispute, The Birthday Massacre, Coal Chamber, Eths, Pianos Become The Teeth, The Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza, Alestorm, Archspire, Axewound, Bobaflex, Chumbawumba, Dead Letter Circus, Everyone Dies In Utah, GI9, Papercut Massacre, Psychostick, Ravenface. I could go on but you see the picture. You dont have to have a great band name to be big. Granted not all of these bands are huge but they have more potential or are already bigger than Rekkr could dream to be.

u completely missed my point. I know there are tons of great awesome bands with names that arent toplevel names, but to be the 'next big thing', u have to have a toplevel name. Look at a band name like Anthrax, or Exodus, both badass band names and 2 of the greatest thrash bands of all time, but as unfortunate as it may be they will not be headlining arenas, its nothing to do with sound. Im not dissing any bands or their names im just sayng the absolute truth. And btw, REKKR is a badass name and will headline big places, but i couldnt see them hedlining 20,000 seat arenas unless its support act. And thats not a bad thing, i mean come one, look at Slayer, one of greatest band names and metal bands EVER, they dont headline arenas.

I had plenty of pimples as a kid. One day I feel asleep in the library. When I woke up a blind man was reading my face.

Greg has a point, to be the next "big" thing , you name has to appeal to the more simple minded, deathmetallama the bands that you listed are not "big" in terms of popularity, sadly to headline arenas you need catchy music, good looking logos and simple one word band names.

Sincerely the Reaper is a decent name. Yeah, it sounds a little post-hardcore, but it still catches the ear enough that it's worth sticking with.
