Most of my music was either purchased or from old tapes of songs that are folk songs not owned by anybody from another country by my dad's old band. Or they were other folk songs given to me by the people who recorded them. How's that for you greg?

Stealing is wrong. Simple as that. Labels need money too people. Labels pay for the touring, recording and organizing of their bands. If I was part of a record label I would be furious at people stealing from me. Those people have familys to feed and shit. Sure the big people are okay but the lesser people are fucked. A Lot of Roadrunnerrecords over seas went out because of it. I pay for the majority of my music. Some was given by friends but they paid fro their CD's so it's not a total loss.I Own 144 CD's, 5 vinyl and about 10 albums on Itunes.

Why do people who buy music get so buttmad at people who get their music for free? Is it the fact that people can get it for free that rustles those jimmies? Or is it the fact that people who buy feel superior to those who don't? Honestly, it's just easier to download music for free than waste tens to hundreds to thousands of dollars on music that could buy you other things.

Nope. Just being real. People are always going to get free music, like it or not. Just like people are going to own guns, smoke marijuana, rape, and kill. Really, "stealing" music hurts the label most. The band makes most of their money from merchandise and touring. Buying CD's is like chump change to what they actually bank from their own personal efforts. If the music industry crashes because no one is buying music anymore, then maybe that's the way it should be. People who make music should do it for the love of it, not just for the money. If these people want/need money that bad, then get a job at flip burgers. If that's not enough for the lifestyle they want, then they can work up the corporate ladder and get their money that way. If people want to continue buying music, then okay. But IMHO it's just so much better to get it free.

^ i want to punch you in the face repeatedly. asshole. first off theres nothing wrong with owning guns or smoking weed, so dont compare those to raping and killing. and no, not all record labels work like that. and also, musicianship IS a career asshole, i mean honestly if you are this stupid then step up and say this shit to ANY fucking record label, major or independent or any band signed to one. you should be thrown in a fucking jail cell and get assraped into a fucking cinder block and then with a banana peel u stupid fucking asshole. u are a thief, and i hope u know tha isp 's are going on a massive online raid to see if their users are or have downloaded illegal shit on february 20th, and then we'll see jsut who doesnt get caught, cause first its a warning, then its up to a 8 year jail sentence and or a 250,000 fine, which u deserve both. really, so let me ask u someting fuckhead - how would you fel if you owned a business and someone jsut came in and took something without paying? would you go into a best buy or something and steal a cd or something? u are fucking retarded, go fuck off

You're trying to make a point, I feel bad for you son, I got 99 jimmies and your post rustled none. Listen, okay, I'll play fair. Give me a multi-million dollar recording label, millions of dollars, and 1-10 years to reign over this company, and I'll let you know how bad the stealing is. Welp, I guess if the law is gonna crack down on me anyway, I should just download some more, eh? If you just calmed down maybe you could see things from another perspective.

dude, i seen things fromother perspectives. i have actually only downloaded 4 albums illegally in my life and it was when i was younger, and guess wha? i bought those same albums LEGALLY about a year or 2 later, and never downloaded illegally since. ive seen all the perspectives there are, im in a band and signed to a record label and the founder has given multiple speeches on illegally downloading and ive talked to many ppl on this subject, but u are just being an ignorant narrowminded ass about it. yeah and go ahead and downlaod more, but unless you have used a proxy server for every single downlaod youve ever done and actualyl know how to program one then there is a 100% chance your isp will send you a warning on feb.20 or the next couple days after it. if u illeaglyy downlaod after that warning, they usualyl notify authorities, so yeah, i m just saying, i warned u of the raid. man i know a lot of people and know people who know a lot of people and have connections, and its even been leaked online on some sights, im telling you that on feb.20 there is going to be a massive nationwide isp search for this kind of shit, im just saying, i wanred u of it motherfucker
