New Kids on the Block are going on tour soon and it got me thinking how do these guys sleep at night. They are pushing 40 years old if not older. No dignity and no shame but shitloads of money and 40 year old women reliving their youth. The funniest part about the tour is the openers are 98 degrees and Boyz 2 men, which tells me they are trying to hard to reach every demographic for this tour. We don't just want the pathetic bitter old housevives at our show, we want their black friends of the same age and all their daughters too. Brilliant marketing. New Kids on The Block = 30 to 40 year old females - Check. Their reluctant husbands that know they listened to nkotb back in the day but won't admit it and end up having more fun at the show than they like to admit and even catch themselves singing along now and then - Check. Boyz 2 Men = 30 to 40 year old Black Male and Female - Check. 98 Degrees = 23 to 33 mostly white females - Check.

I remember when kids at school who were a little older than me at the time, probably eighth grade or so, would parody the new kids song "The Right Stuff" and sing it as "The White Stuff" , which obviously is referring to jizz, but i didn't know that at the time but that didn't stop me from singing along with them and laughing as if i got the joke.

depeche mode isn't a boy band and people don't feel guilty about having listened to them. I still do and i still like them. don't compare depeche mode to nkotb.
