Can't say that I'm a fan except in rare cases that a genre elitist might argue. Grindcore always seems to get lost in this debate. Does it even count as what people think of when you write "Core"?

It really depends on the band for me. I'm open to any kind of music if its good. I enjoy TDWP, Miss May I, Whitechapel etc. but I hate bands like I See Stars and Attila

I like bands like The Devil Wears Prada, As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, and August Burns Red but I can't stand bands like Pierce the Veil, Sleeping with Sirens and I See Stars. These bands give the genre a bad name

It depends on what you mean by core. Because i love bands like killswitch engage, all that remains, as i lay dying, the devil wears prada, asking alexandria and shadows fall to death. But i can't stand bands like sleeping with sirens and pierce the veil. But my main reason for listening to core is the emotional feeling i get out of it i just can't get from death or thrash metal. It's still heavy enough for me to get energetic about, yet emotional enough that when i am having a bad day i can relate to it.

The old wave of metalcore is just fine, and I like deathcore. TDWP and AILD are good new wave metalcore. Other then that, I don't care for core.

Older core bands I like Killswitch Engage, Unearth, As I Lay Dying, Trivium, Chimaira and I like Deathcore (Depending on the bands) Born of Osiris, Suicide Silence, Whitechapel, Upon a Burning Body, Winds of Plague, ect... and one Post-Hardcore band Of Mice & Men. Post-Hardcore is a bunch of pussies complaing about their girfriend. That's what it sounds like to me.

as a genre, I HATE IT. BUT there are a few bands I do enjoy. In metalcore I like As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, old All That Remains, old Trivium, Five Finger Death Punch, and Shadows Fall. And I do like one deathcore band: As Blood Runs Black... other than that, screw core. Grindcore doesn't count (although even there I really only like the series death-grind bands like Insect Warfare, Napalm Death, Rotten Sound, etc and don't really dig on the "Anal Cunt"s, and the "Sperm Swamp"s of the genre).
Stuff... Things...

@Skyrim i do like one of mice and men song, and that is second and sebring. And that isn't even for the song itself really. The song is good but i just love how he made it for his mom. I can respect someone who writes a song for his mom. I love my mom more than anything and everytime i hear that song i am grateful she is here. But anyway i can respect an artist that does that.
