So about david drainman producing the new trivium album...

Is anyone afraid that they will take more of a mainstream approach with this one? I mean don't get me wrong i love trivium and am beyond ecstatic for this, but i think we have all seen where Great bands come out with an iffy album and then a terrible one *cough all that remains cough*. Ultimately i am just worried that they will slow down because they are one of my favorite bands ever.

a more mainstream approach... you mean like that last piece of shit "IN WAVES" they had the GALL to call a follow-up to Shogun? Yea it probably will be more mainstream.

Idk, hard to sayy, I feel like The Crusade was probably one of their more mainstream albums, and after that, they learned their lesson and released Shogun, so hopefully they'll have a nice mix on the new album

Such small mindedness among my people. Very Disappointing.

I didn't think Trivium could sell out anymore, but it turns out they can. I like Disturbed, and I like Dave, but it is pretty clear what Trivium's intention is here. And really, Trivium is such an awful band that even if Dave works his Disturbed magic with them, it will still just sound like second rate, warmed-over Disturbed.

@metal That's what worries me. If they are willing to put out a lacking album like in waves then are they willing to do it a second time?

ya trivium lost me with the whole in waves album. not sure if david will help or hurt them. i mean honestly it isn't like disturbed has taken fresh look at it self since ten thousand fists in the air.
You tried hard and you failed. Moral of the story is never try.

Exactly. I enjoy disturbed every once in awhile but their sound hasn't really changed at all.

I even liked The Crusade. At least it was thrashy, and had creative lyrics. But In Waves - MY GOD! It was all breakdowns and chug riffs. The solos were uninspired and lazy. The lyrics were stupid, and simply repeated over and over and over. VERY DISSAPOINTING! ... They've def lost my interest after that release.
