I've read that the guy who wants a basketball team recently bought a bunch of real estate that included the Showbox Sodo. If an arena is built they would likely tear it down.

the show box sodo would be moved. he owns a "ridiculous" amount of area down there. not only will he be building the stadium but all of the surrounding area including bars/clubs, restaurants, hotels, etc... this guy is loaded out of his ass and he is partners in this venture with the CEO of a little company called microsoft so he is also loaded out of his ass. it is going to be awesome, to be honest when i go to the show box sodo in the back of my mind i fear i will be shanked, and dragged into an alley where i will be gang raped by dirty mike and the boys if you get my drift.
You tried hard and you failed. Moral of the story is never try.

OH SHIT. I'm for the team in that case. I had no idea the Showbox was going to be moved. I am A) not super aware of what is going on, because B) I'm going to school in Vancouver BC. I hope by "moved" that means a better venue. Showbox Sodo needs a higher ceiling. I saw Eluveite, Wintersun and Varg at the Rickshaw Theatre in Vancouver and that place was like the Paramount Theater with the balcony and high ceiling for way cooler lighting.
