NIN is different though, reznor is on different musical level than a lot and NIN is kind of their own genre of industrial. and yes it is a metal subgenre: Rob Zombie,Powerman 5000,Rammstein,Mushroomhead,The Union Underground,Ministry,Static-X,Fear Factory,Hanzel und Gretel,Marilyn Manson,Godflesh,KMFDM,Stabbing Westward,Gravity Kills,Filter,Dope,Meathook Seed,Deathstars,Orgy,etc. and also all the other metal bands who arernt industrial but have industrial in some songs. so you are, once again wrong

I didnt say it sucks, I said its not the best genre, big difference. Industrial covers quite a few genres, included hard rock (NIN, Stabbing Westward, Rob/White Zombie) and metal (Static-X, Ministry and Fear Factory). To say its a metal sub-genre is wrong

Rob Zombie is METAL not hard rock. so yes it is a metal subgenre. nu metal also has hard rock bands who have the nu metal style but nu metal is a metal subgenre.
