Rockstar Mayhem Festival

I was highschool when new metal hit and, while it had some awesome moments, I think most are happy to see it pass. I do wish that Flaw could have pulled it together longer to release more than one killer album.

I am not a fan of nu-metal at all, but in my opinion Slipknot, System Of A Down, Linkin Park and Korn are the by far biggest of the genre, my honorable mention is Rage Against The Machine.

^ SOAD isn't Nu Metal, they are Alternative Metal. Linkin Park would have replaced Godsmack with the first 3 albums but the last 2 killed it for them.

Also RATM is Alt. Metal.

are you serious man? you cant put soad in nu metal,and certainly they arent alt. they have nu metal sounds at times,but their music is too diverse and unique to be placed simply as nu metal or something,sort of like korn. and if you think that RATM is alt you are fucking stupid

My understanding was that nu metal was a combination of many different styles, though it was mostly heavy metal, rap, hip hop and alternative. Many of them also incorporated more ethnic styles. I.e. ill Nino or soad. Maybe i am wrong?

^ actually you pretty much summed up Nu-Metal in a nutshell.

Linkin Park (Hybrid Theory & Meteora days), Slipknot, Korn and I guess Limp Bizkit. On a sidenote though, my first concert ever was Summer Sanitarium in 2003 and the four support bands for Metallica at those shows could be considered top nu-metal bands too (Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Deftones, and Mudvayne).
