^yea i was gonna say if that's what people think then they don't know the first thing about nu metal

a7x is not metalcore. their first or 2nd album was and thats it

The rest of their material wasn't Nu Metal though. It's hard rock if you don't classify it as Metalcore.

The real nu-metal four is korn slipknot limp bizkit and disturbed. The bands godsmack(metal/hard rock) avenged sevenfold(metal/core) and five finger death punch(metal/core) are but i love all the bands i mentioned.

Id say Slipknot, Deftones, Korn, Mudvayne. Or even switching out Mudvayne for Sepultura. And theirs no way in hell a7x is Nu Metal get that shit outa here.

I really don't see that much Nu Metal or any in Shinedown. Their more Alt Metal or hard rock. It's hard to make a big 4 because many strong prominent Nu metal bands have abondened their genre. Like Linkin Park for example. If i had to make a present day list it would be in no order: Korn, Deftones, Limp Bizkit, Disturbed. 10 years ago Linkin Park would have replaced Disturbed. Godsmacks can be classifyed as many genres so it's hard to put them in a big 4. They could be Nu Metal, Hard Rock, e.t.c.

a7x are in no way numetal(not that im a genre douche) and to be honest when i think of numetal i dont always think slipknot and disturbed 1st.I think Linkin Park/KoRn/Limp Bizkit(for sure) then the 4th could be deftones(mabe) Now if we are including bands i mentioned b4 then I supose Slipknot/System of A Down/Disturbed/KoRn...but if we are talking my favorites System of A Down/Slipknot/Deftones/Mudvayne...you might even have to have a big 5 or 6...idk theres no clear cut answer like the big 4 of thrash....that one was easy.

I wouldn't put Slipknot in the Nu-metal category. Korn and Limp Bizkit that's common sense there. Bands like Slipknot, Disturbed and Godsmack changed they're sound later on in their careers.
