When me and my friend go to shows and he gets something i usually buy it

I'm saying like, online. Like this dude, www.guitar-picks.com. He has a whole tradelist, and has (through working in music at certain venues and doing photography), managed to collect all of the picks on this site. He trades, I have traded with him a few times (and the picks I have traded with him are on the site).

I'll check it out sometime. But I like to actually catch or actually be handed the pick or drumstick or whatever it is personally. It makes it feel more special to me because I was lucky enough and fast enough to snatch it, or I was lucky enough to actually be chosen by the member to recieve the gift that would be the guitar pick. Not to mention that it was actually used by that member of the band or it was originally held by that person. I know it sounds weird, and maybe I'm spoiled lol but it's just how I feel about that stuff. That's why I also don't buy them. You can always buy the merch and what not, but that doesn't make it special to me. But thanks for the advice on Hatebreed, Sawborg. I'll see what I can do. It depends on how the crowd is because I don't want to do anything that could get my girlfriend hurt.

Yeah Simon, I hear you loud and clear on that one. When I go to a show, if it is with my girlfriend, I am already aware that I am probably not getting anything at the show. And personally, for me, if I can manage to snag something at a show, I think it is totally sick. But I also do like to trade, knowing that I can get my hands on some really cool shit. Cause, for example, lets be honest, Flattus isn't flicking picks out into the crowd anymore. While I did get to meet Balsac, and he did give me one and then had a drink with me, I wanted one from Flattus for a while, but unfortunately there will be no more from him...so, I just traded around and got what I wanted. It is definitely sick to get them at the shows, and it definitely gives them a whole different meaning when you go to the show and manage to catch them, but I have done it both ways (gone to a show, caught a pick, and traded it off right away versus trading to get one and not wanting to trade it away for whatever someone else has). Another quick one, is that I am getting a Metallica pick from Mexico (a Rob Trujillo bass pick), and the only reason I am sending it off is because it is going to Ian from New Found Glory, who took the time to meet with me and my girlfriend, help me score a bunch of picks for her Christmas gift, and even took the time to talk with her and take a picture with her...cool fucking dude, man.

@Simon, I saw him wandering around the venue in a Descendents hoodie. I went up to him and talked to him, and asked him for a pick. He said he didn't have one, and I continued to talk to him for a bit...then told him there was a bar next door to the venue, and he said he would swing by afterwards. My girlfriend and I went to the bar there, and waited around and had a few drinks before he got there, then when he got there we had a few more drinks and all chilled for a bit.

Been a while, but figured I would mention my score the other night. Went to the Brothers of Brutality tour, and got 2 picks from Emmure (say what you want about that, I have someone willing to offer me $100 PER PICK), an Unearth pick, and an Unearth setlist. Cool thing about the Unearth pick is that its from Matt DeVries (from Fear Factory and Chimaira) filling in for Unearth's bassist. The company that makes the picks made 1 bag of these picks, and that is all.
