For me it's Ghost hands down. I caught their performance back on the Heritage Hunter tour back in May with Mastodon and Opeth. Even with a 6-7 song setlist they stole the whole show. Satanic image, yet their sound is perfect. Not to mention one of the best new acts to come out in years.

I don't know if I'd call them "new", but the contortionist and wretched are both awesome. Both bands have been around for a couple of years and have a couple albums out. I saw the contortionist on their latest us headliner and wretched opened the 2012 metal alliance tour. Two of my favorite shows that I've seen so far.

Out of the bands I saw for the first time this year, Volbeat was the best.

seen some great bands this year,definitely a tie between black sabbath iron maiden and rekkr

um????? last i looked madien and sabbath have been around for a long ass time. good job peeper. for me this year, new!!!! band. kill devil hill. outstanding.
