^Finally someone else who agrees with me on Alcest. Also, the nightwish album technically was released in 2011, it only saw a US release in 2012, so that one is a bit debatable, great album though. Also, I am honestly surprised no one else has said Eremita aside from me (as far as I know) granted, I don't think it is as good as After, but still absolutely amazing.

Honestly I always consider the Nightwish album a 2012 release, probably because I picked it up this year too. But I love that album. Honestly I'd call that the best album I've heard in the last year.

In no particular order: Eluveitie - Helvetios, Cattle Decapitation - Monolith of Inhumanity, Tenacious D - Rize of the Fenix, Between the Buried and Me - The Parallax II - Future Sequence, and Revocation - Teratogenesis.

New Alcest was amazing, just not on my top ten. There were many a good album out this year.
