Note that the only reason the new DTP album isn't on there is because I haven't had enough time with it yet. Also, there were so many good albums this year that I wanted to try and get a good variety of styles in my list.

I don't know about favorites, but these are 5 albums I have been enjoying quite a bit. The Gaslight Anthem-Handwritten, Municipal Waste-The Fetal Feast, Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band-Between the Ditches, Baroness-Yellow & Green, High on Fire-De Vermis Mysteriis, and I like Down IV Part 1 The Purple EP

5.Municipal Waste- The Fatal Feast 4. Resolution- Lamb of God 3. Overkill- Electric Age 2. Kreator- Phantom Antichrist 1. Testament- Dark Roots of Earth

1) Shadows Fall - Fire in the Sky Meshuggah - Koloss 3) Fozzy - Sin and Bones 4) God Forbid - Equalibrium 5) Demn Hunter - True Defiance.

Far too many people are putting Log and AILD for 1st, their good bands but AILD's new record is very overproduced and it lacks major compared their last 2 records. Ocean Between Us is still by far their greatest album.

The fact that it's one of AILD's weaker albums has nothing to do with the fact that it's the best album of the year. An Ocean Between Us is the best metalcore album of all time imo

1. Down - The Purple EP, 2. Pig Destroyer - Book Burner (yes, even though I have only heard a few tracks off of it, it is definitely one of the best albums to be coming out this year...Oct 22), 3. LOG - Resolution, 4. As I Lay Dying - Awakened, 5. Murder Construct - Results

Xenocide well it definitely doesn't rank in my top 5 and I agree An Ocean Between Us is the greatest metal core album... unless you count Converge as metalcore then no.
