Squint your eyes to see clearly. Blur reality to make it real. Let focus go from your deceiving eyes to know whats been concealed. We've all been blinded

My thoughts from Tinley Park:
A. Slayer should have headlined. They reigned supreme that day.
B. Slipknot played too many of their newer popular songs and not enough of their great, heavy songs. I love Slipknot, don't get me wrong.... but if they were best, why were so many people leaving halfway through their set? Best thing Slipknot had going for them was their stage setup and half their song list, but after watching Slayer beast the fuck out of the place, the rest of their song selections seemed weak.
C. Best MOSH: Upon A Burning Body (no doubt about it)
D. Sumarian Stage lineup was great, but WHY THE FUCK WAS THE STAGE SO FUCKING SMALL???!!!???? Seriously, you had a tent, not a stage. Everybody who wasn't in the first 3 rows couldn't see shit except when the singers climbed on top of everybody and anything they could (Which UaBB and I the Breather did often). Couldn't you have at least pulled up a could flatbed trailers and elevated the band to the point people could actually see them? For people like me it didn't matter much... when i wasn't moshing I was right up close... however for people who straggled over from AA and TDWP (who sucked in comparison, just sayin') couldn't see shit. A little bit of elevation and some more speakers would have done the bands on that stage proper justice.... then more people could have seen just how much ass they kicked.
E. FUCKING ANTHRAX!!!
F. The local band on 2nd stage was good too... (7 Year Existence? I think?) Definitely sounded better than Betraying the Martyrs who followed them. Made me wish we could have heard more of them, more from White Chapel... and less of BtM. Why Sumerian decided to highlight them instead of I the Breather or Upon a Burning Body I'll never understand, especially after seeing them live for the first time. Perhaps they should have upped their stage quality and kept them over there, opening for the other two bands that were better (UaBB and I the Breather)
G. (and lastly) SOOOOoooooo fucking glad we drank the entire way to Chicago, because $56 for a round of double Captain-Cokes (4 dudes) was hard to swallow. Fortunately we slammed bottles of Jager, Captain, Jack and Jim beforehand... but still wound up forking up over $400 on booze alone. What a ripoff. Not very alcoholic-friendly, lol.
This is pretty much my most legible signature ever

Slayer put on the best show in Maryland Heights. Slipknot put on a great show (This coming from a guy who is not really a Slipknot fan), but nobody can fuck with Slayer.

How I rank the performances
1.Slipknot
2.Anthrax
3.Slayer
4.As I lay Dying
5.Motorhead
6.The Devil Wears Prada
7.Whitechapel
8.Asking Alexandria
Theses are the only bands I watched their entire except I missed the start of As I lay Dying due to the set times. Also looking at the crowd after Slipknot ended there were not tons of ppl leaving after Slayer in Tinley Park. It was Slipknot's show no doubt about it. They had twice as many fans as Slayer. I only talking about the Tinley Show. Also Slayer is very good at what they do but its just more of the same shit over and over again. Every song sounded the same except for Seasons of the abyss which is my favorite. Dave Lombardo killed it though.

Slayer then Anthrax then Motorhead. Slipknot was good at the Chicago show, but their sound had a lot of issues, at least for the first 3 songs.
It's funny to imagine bears riding motorcycles.
