VIP ticket experience

I won the vip pass for the camden nj show from mayhem reporters. I wasnt allowed to go anywhere with it at all! Im glad i already had my pit tickets. I asked the venue workers and security all day where i could go and there response was "you get in early". I tried going backstage during the side stage and mainstage mulitiple times and was told every single time that i didnt have the right pass to go backstage and he showed the email i got saying i was allowed backstage with the pass and they just laughed at it. They need to fix how they handle it. There was nothing VIP about it.

I hope somebody with Mayhem reads these comments. It was def not what was anticipated and very dissapointing, seems like from just about everyone commenting. It seems as if all the VIP, mayhem reporters winners and people who purchased VIP def did not get the experience they hoped for!

the vip ticket was total bullshit at camden, they never told you where to go or when to go there. none of the staff even knew about the vip wristband, i had to go to some supervisor and ask him where to go and by the time i found out where to go the person guarding the door told me it was too late to go back stage, it was bullshit, the staff also gave me attitude

@deathwing94 the supervisor i talked to didnt tell me any of that he just said the vip was worthless and couldnt go anywhere and he laughed. they need to get on the same page half of the staff acted like they never knew they should vip for mayhem. They looked at me like i was making it up.

i won the vip bracelet thing too. i also think it was a rip. all i could do was go to the backstage tent n get a meal. it wasnt worth my time to go back there cuz i had lost my brother. an event staff member pretty much told me the same thing. i guess next years ill try not to win it.

Just giving a brief overview of the VIP experience.... Really Fucking Sucked.... I hope everyone that participated in all things "VIP" took that dam survey that they posted.. I know i fucking did.... Though Camden had a great show, anything VIP was pretty much non existent.. No host, wasn't really expecting to be let back stage but yea, and early entry.... Really?? 15 minutes... Yeah sorry to make this a bitch-fest but just had to make sure this board had any input that someone could give.... \m/ d(.

I have to say i was really disappointed this year with the VIP. My wife and i have gone every year so far and have gotten VIP tickets 4 out of the 5 years. We entered through the VIP entrance and sat down and ate. Later on it started to get really hot and my wife gets very light headed and nauseous in the sun. So we were going to go back to the VIP area but got denied entry, saying that we were not VIP and letting us in through that entrance was a mistake, that i should go talk to someone in the ticket office. They said the VIP area was for live nation VIP ticket holders only. I think this is complete crap and i will be damned if i ever buy VIP Tickets again. We feel like our money and loyalty to the tour was appreciated.

I must say I luckily didn't have these problems with my tickets. I won them through a charity auction and got quite a few perks more than what I should. I thank the staff and everyone that made my day memorable, but that doesn't mean I don't have my qualms. First, I thought the "meet & greet" with Slipknot would actually be a MEET AND GREET, not just a 'quick get your shit signed and pose for this picture because we have so many fucking people back here that didn't pay near as much as you did, but since we foolishly allowed 20 fucking people this opportunity you're 'special' tickets aren't so 'special' anymore.' They seriously had TOO MANY OT9 people for the 'meet and greet' which was a joke. And then on top of that I foolishly assumed I'd meet more members than I did. Sure I met nearly all of them without their masks backstage, but when I read "meet and greet with Slipknot" I assumed it would be, gee, all of them. And that I would actually get to TALK to them in a talkative setting rather than awkwardly stare at them backstage maskless while their eating, smoking, or fucking picking their nose, thinking "how the fuck do I start a conversation with any of them??" Not only that but in addition to OT9 people there were a shit ton of other VIP people, some of them even got side stage with me and my friend and they probably paid way fucking less than I did. Also, I realized meeting musicians and anyone you like or look up to in some way is just such a Debbie Downer. You realize how totally normal, sometimes rude they are, and how they really shouldn't be as high on the pedestal as you put them. It just ruins the glamour for me. Don't get me wrong though, I enjoyed it! I just don't find celebrities as fascinating anymore so I'm not really a strange little fan freak anymore. I mean when you're standing less than five feet from James Root while you're both smoking a cigarette and all you can think is "hmmm....that's James....*takes hit off cigarette* interesting....*hit*....hmm.....I'm tired...." you realize seeing celebrities is not that big of a deal. What's worse is when you're so old and stuck in your musical ways you don't even notice TDWP or AA or some of those bands walking right by your table to shove their face at lunchtime and your friend goes "Omg! There's so and so over there!" Then you respond by going, "Huh? Who's that? And which one are you talking about?" Yeahh.....So some of the experience was lost on me.....My last compliant would be that I still haven't gotten the 'meet & greet' pictures emailed to me yet. I realize they are busy but if Slipknot's facebook Moderator can post the OT9 pictures then I could surely get mine sent to my email. So in conclusion, my complaints are as follows: not a true 'meet and greet' with Slipknot, too many VIP and OT9 people backstage, and still haven't received my pictures. Basically I loved the experience but that was the one and only time I will EVER do that! It was wayy too much money to ever do again especially if that is how they always run meet and greets. But I think of all the stories I read I had the best backstage experience. So thanks for everything Mayhem I had a great time, but never shelling out that much cash for that again. Truly once in a lifetime for me. :)

They listed everything you got for the vip price on the website. I was not shocked at all.
I am the push that makes you move!

I have yet to receive the items we were supposed to get in the mail statue etc... We weren't allowed into the VIP area and the Sumerian stage was a piece of crap. I've gone the last 3 years and this was the first time I bought the VIP ticket. However if I never get the shwag I paid for and they use that junk stage that prevented me from seeing or hearing half the bands I won't be going again.
