The VIP tickets will not get you backstage, you need a different pass.
I'm not sure how it works at other venues but here in OKC there is a separated pit area right in front of the stage. There is also a deck off to the side with shade, AC bathrooms and also areas to get food and drinks without having to mess with the crowed. IMO they went a little overboard with how many VIP tickets they sold. The deck was so packed it became useless. The VIP Pit area wasn't much better due to the amount of people they let in there. Nothing worse than trying to enjoy a show but to have a bunch of drunk ass holes trying to force their way to the front and starting fights..... all fucking concert.

Jimmyw, the only thing I can think to tell you, is to either call the venue themselves, or the 800 number for LiveNation VIP, and let them know about your wife being pregnant. They can possibly put you in a handicapped seating area, which might have a few wheelchairs, but other than that, there should be physical seating as well, at least at my venue there is in the handicapped section.

I have the VIP package and am going tomorrow. Will security give you shit if you take pictures or confiscate your phone? I always expect things to not go as planned but as long as I get to meet Lemmy I'm good to go!

Jimmy, I think infernoxred stole my idea first... I'd call and explain the situation to the venue itself and they can probably get you access to the handicapped area or seats in a better area. From what I saw half the reserved seats weren't very full and the venue struggled to sell upgrades to lawn section holders for $10. I asked them for better seats than they had to offer where i was directed to the box office. The only thing they didn't have was pit seats, so I'm sure they'd be happy to free up any standing pit area seats they can. From what I experienced, they are a far easier sell than the reserved seats. (people want to mosh)
This is pretty much my most legible signature ever

My brother and I paid $200 for vip in clarkston, mi. and there was no host, no backstage access and no wristband. None of the staff knew were slipknot was signing or at what time. They sent us all over the place looking for answers, made us wait by the pavilion for 45minutes while we were missing other bands play, we ended up missing slipknots signing and were pissed for half of the day. Now I cant get any help from either VIP nation or DTE energy theatre. Did anyone else have any trouble? there were a ton of other people with vip passes that werent happy either and both companies are saying they arent getting any of the same complaints! What can I do?!

I won a tour survey vip pass and ticket for the Atlanta show. The VIP pass was a no escort needed pass but the ticket was a lawn ticket. It was a disappointing experience. I tried to go back stage at the Jagermeister stage and was told I didn't have the correct pass. So, I went to the box office where I picked up the pass at will call and they told me that I could only go back stage at the main stage. I watched the second stage bands out front with everyone and then went to the main stage when it was time for it to start. With the crowd and the long distance between stages, I got to the main stage when As I Lay Dying was finishing there set. So, I got to watch the end of As I Lay Dying and Motorhead from the side of the main stage which was great. But, when it came time for Slayer and Slipknot I was again told that I didn't have the correct individual band pass or an all access laminate. So, since the ticket that came with the pass was a lawn ticket, I had to watch the two main and best bands from the lawn with my special VIP pass that I had won. Great show and tour but very disappointing experience.

I promise all of you who are thinking of buying the VIP package, DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!! This was the biggest waste of money I've ever spent on a concert. What you get for the extra $100 plus is a 15 minute early entry and your own picnic area which is absolutely nothing special. There is no special access to the bands AT ALL!! The friends on here who met bands won a contest. You will not meet Slipknot or Slayer. I saw the show at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, VA last night. I had staff laugh in my face for buying the package. They said it was worthless. Also, there is no VIP host. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT BUY VIP. I AM SPEAKING FROM THE HEART AND I'M HOPING TO SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY.

I won the VIP bracelet for Bristow, VA for the Mayhem Reporters. Please in the future make sure the staff is aware what you can and can not do. I asked soooo many staff members who told me "Oh it gives you access to watch the second stage bands" or "I don't know, let me check my paper here" It was such a waste of time. I got accused of tearing mine, because my backpack got hooked on it and it got wrinkled. I was able to walk back by the tractor trailers! Woo Hoo! Not, there was nobody back there, nothing to see... able to walk by the drink stands on the left of the stage and that was it. I thought you should be able to do a little more than that....but what a bummer. Thank Goodness I already had seat tickets. So if you won this don't be alarmed if you can't do anything with it. Just get a bright yellow VIP stick on bracelet! I hope maybe other tour stops have a better experience. Concert was amazing with the family though, guess I had my hopes up too much for winning this vip.
