I'm sure this has already been discussed or answered but I was wondering how the VIP experience was? I won a free VIP for taking the survey and was just wondering what it all included. Do you actually get to go backstage and meet some of the bands or even stand on the side during their set? Or is it not even worth the hassle?

I heard there isnt really a vip host. The only thing that is really worth it is the fastlane which lets you get earlier. This is just what I heard I havent been to the show yet.

I won the VIP from Mayhem Reporters for Phoenix and it was a pretty awesome experience. RBRT11 is correct, you do not have a host or chaperone....you're on your own. When you check in, you will receive a green VIP wristband and the lady says that is gives you all access backstage. This is true...almost. You have full access to the "lot" area of the second stage bands. You can even watch standing from the side of the stage. At NO POINT do you have access to the tour busses- that is is separate media pass. When the mainstage bands start, you are able to go anywhere backstage. Most of the artists are hanging out and meeting with radio promoters, etc... They will take time out to meet you and sign stuff that you bring. When I went backstage, members of As I Lay Dying were there being interviewed, signing, eating... Slayer was signing stuff and talking with other artists. I met Corey Taylor briefly after his KUPD interview as well as Joey Belladonna (Anthrax) and Kerry King (Slayer). There were other people with their VIP wristband going into the dressing room area, but I did not venture there. You also are permitted access to stand side-stage for The Devil Wears Prada, Motorhead, and Slayer. When Slipknot was setting up all people who DID NOT have a silver Slipknot VIP Sticker were removed and asked to go back into the crowd. Overall, it was awesome meeting some artists, hanging out, and just experiencing the backstage area of a metal show- which is truly laid back. You will likely not meet members of Slipknot in costume, as both times Corey was out, he was in a tee-shirt and shorts drinking Gatorade. He excused himself the second time to "get ready". Enjoy! It was a blast!

When you weren't backstage, what kind of ticket did you have? I won the experience for Noblesville, IN, but don't know if my "general admission ticket" is for the pit area or the lawn area. Anyone know?

Sounds awesome. If I could get Corey Taylor to sign my shirt I would consider that an amazing day. Hopefully I'll be as lucky as you.

I won one of these for the Bristow VA show, and I was wondering a few things I'll probably want to sit on stage for both Slayer and Motorhead, so would I just be able to get there right before Motorhead starts, and be able to stay until Slayer gets off?
Also, when back stage in general, will security give me shit if I take pictures of equipment? I obviously know not to touch anything, but I'd surely love to get pics of things if I can.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS?
Dear Mayhem Tinley Park Reserved Seat fan,
Due to logistical issues, your reserved seat has now been moved to the General Admission PIT area. Your order has automatically been moved to the standing pit.
We apologize for the inconvenience. If you would like to cancel your order and receive a full refund, please contact us no later than tomorrow, Thursday, July 19th, 2012 5:00pm Pacific time, by replying to this email. If we do not hear from you by then, your order will be moved to the General Admission PIT area.
Please include your order ID number and attendee name on the order.
The rest of your package details remain the same.
YOUR VIP NATION TEAM
I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THIS. I'LL NEED A VERY GOOD EXPLANATION AS TO WHY MY PREGNANT WIFE IS BEING FORCED TO STAND IN THE PIT. THIS CAN BE A VERY DANGEROUS PLACE FOR HER. IS VIP NATION PREPARED TO DEAL WITH THE POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCES OF PUTTING HER AT HIGH RISK? BUYING RESERVED SEATS WAS A WAY FOR US TO AVOID THE DANGERS OF THE PIT WHILE STILL ENJOYING THE SHOW.
