Who Pit's ? And who Sit's ?

I like watching bands play, I used to be all about the pit. Until, I broke my foot in one, now I am wary. I will jump into a circle pit at a punk show now and again, but never at a metal show. I value my bones not being cracked.

Pit the outside stages, sit for the inside show. It's the best of both worlds. Plus, it's awesome to sit after kicking ass all day.

I've sustained injury in the pit. Nothing as bad as broken bones, unless chipped tooth counts. A finger jabbed in my eye, vision hasn't been the same since. Those are probably the two most notable things, and I don't have medical insurance. But that's part of life. It's therapy, release. You ever seen the movie Fight Club? A bunch of dudes get rough and tumble and get out what humans used to naturally get out on their own before civilization and structure of cubicals and classrooms deemed such activity so barbaric. And afterwards high 5 and agree that it was awesome. I love it. And I'll take the risk to partake in a mosh pit (if it's a band I love on stage) any day.

I see the argument you made and I agree. I still do the whole mosh thing from time to time. I now know when I will come out hurt and not and my survival instinct kicks in and tells me I better not join. And yes I have seen fight club, but I felt the end kind of countered the violence. After all the violent nature of man is what took them so far as to destroy. Thus, the violence is in us as an outlet, but something we must control. This is how I view the film. It rides the wave of the human experience.

Depends on the band for me, most of the time i'll be on the barrier in the front the entire show, but I always make sure to jump in the pit a little bit.

Depends on the band. Some bands who I am either not into too much or don't know too well I will pit, but for other bands such as Lamb Of God this year I do not pit because they put on an amazing show and they are fun to watch and get into. Bands like Whitechapel and Behemoth last year were bands I pitted to last year, where as KSE and All That Remains were bands I stayed out and watched.
