1. Separating Lines of Text
There are two ways to break apart lines of text:
The first is the line break tag, typed in as <br>. It will make you go from one line<br>
to the next (although it won't show up like that when you post).
The second way is to use the paragraph tag. At the beginning of your paragraph, you put in <p>, then at the end you put </p>.
<p>Paragraph 2</p>Magic!!!! (again, they won't show up when you post, I'm using it as an example).
2. Bold & Italics
It's pretty basic; put <b> in where you want the text to turn bold, and then </b> when you want it to stop being bold. use <i> and </i> for italics.
Example: <i>Hardcore dancers</i> need to <b>STAY OUT OF THE MOSH PIT!</b>
Becomes: Hardcore dancers need to STAY OUT OF THE MOSH PIT!
The way this board works, this is probably the hardest part to get right. You need to make sure that the URL has http:// in front of it, otherwise the clickable text you want it to have won't work. Also, don't forget the quotes around the URL!
<a href="http://www.google.com">This is the world's best search engine!</a> will look like this:
[A HREF="http://www.google.com"]This is the world's best search engine![/A]
Now all you need to do is substitute the site/image/etc you want to link and you're all set! YAY SCIENCE!
See the [A HREF="http://www.w3schools.com/tags"]W3 HTML Tags[/A] page for more information on using these tags. Keep in mind that not all tags/attributes work properly on this board.
