King I am 35 years old and totally get what you are saying about true metal I came up on it Priest Maiden Sabbath ect. But music always evolves it cant stay the same forever come on dude.I dont know how old you are but your musical taste has got to be decent to love all the "classic metal" but you cant take anything away from current metal. Even our heros - Ozzy , Rob , Bruce , and countless others give respect to these newer and not so newer bands.Just a thought.

Metal has evolved positively, but it has evolved negatively as well. I think positive evolutions include death metal, as well as its melodic counterpart, etc. But a lot of "current metal" is, in my opinion, a part of the negative evolution. Deathcore and metalcore have simplified metal to the point that it doesn't take talent to write material. When you do that, you're taking the art from music, which just makes it noise.

I define a sell out as a band that intentionally changes their sound, usually in an unnatural way, for the purposes of fanbase and money.

Very good definition of a sellout and I agree with your response to my post as well.An educated response is always nice to see.

I love Pantera, they were my first musical loves. The scream-o metal doesn't do anything for me because I like to know what they are singing. Yeah, I have a thing for understanding words. But just because it doesn't float my boat doesn't mean that genre of music doesn't tickle someone else's pickle. I just think it's awesome that people are passionate about music one way or another. But then again, in an artists eye, art or music should not be bickered over.

Every death or black fan at one point in their music listening didn't like "unintelligible" vocals, but we came to appreciate them.

I dig Iron Maiden, Judas Priest,Iced Earth, Blind Guardian,Slayer, Black Sabbath. But i also love Amon Amarth, Cannibal Corpse, Nile,DevilDriver, Lamb of God, Chimaira, Arch Enemy, ShadowsFall, JFAC, and Soulfly. Good Music is Good Music. Britney Spears and N'sync sell 90,000 tickets. Just because some band or act can sell a shit load of tickets does not make them better than the smaller acts that go around playing small clubs. More succesful yes but at the end of the day it's all subjective. If you have a stick in your ass about a certain band or Genre fine whatever. no skin of my sack
