WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO LOVING THE MUSIC!!!

If you love heavy music then your a metal head!!! What happened to just loving the music? I read thru these posts and everybody talks shit about this band and that band, what happened to just being there for the music. Who cares if you dont like a certain band if you dont like them then dont listen. If your going to mayhem fest then your a metal head!! Thats the problem that why metal almost died off is because we can never come together and make it big, because we are always hating this band and hating that band. Why dont we all just come together and support the music we love and take metal to another level. I think mayhem fest is one of teh best things to happen to metal in a long time. You can see why metal is so big in Europe because they dont hate on bands like America does. Europe has some of the craziest festivals in the world with some of the craziest lineups ive ever seen. And why cant that happen here? Because America is not supporting heavy metal like we're supposed to. Thats why we can never have festivals like woodstock here in the states because Americans wouldnt except it. Becasue we hate too much and we dont have open minds liek other countries do. My point is we need to stop hating and come together and support the music. We need to take metal back to the top where it belongs.

Loving the music is perfectly fine, but I don't really think bands that don't deserve to be supported should be supported.

You make it sound like I'm incapable of finding music to enjoy.

everyone has the right to their opinion. The last time i checked this was pretty much a music forum. If you dont like a band, you should have a right to say so. now worry about pissing in someones weahties over it! Like I personaly cant stand tool. I will tell anyone whom asks and not care. Why, cause I can. I love music, but not every band is my cup of tea. Therefore, I use forums like this to discuss my feelings with others who may or may not share them.

I totally agree. not every band youll like, but still support the music of bands you do like so we can have good festivals like download and wacken. and although everyone is entitled to their opinions on who they like, no ones actually asking who you dont like. the more shit one talks, the less people will want to be around you.

But I agree with the original post. I guess I can't speak for the European culture, as I've never been there, but it seems more and more evident every day here in America that this new young, rich & out of control generation is taking over. I'm not trying to say everyone on this board is an asshole, but it seems like most these kids, if there is a band on the bill that they aren't into they're just PISSED. And posting "replace this band i hate with this band i like!" Or "this band is so and so sub-genre and I'm not into that band's fan's emo look!" Or whatever complaint they can come up with. They're used to everything being perfect, getting everything they want, and when something doesn't go their way they throw tantrums. It's not about disagreeing with the opinion you express. It's about got damn kids these days losing touch with what's supposed to bring us all together, and using exactly that-to drive us all apart! Got damn kids can't pit the same style, some wanna push pit, some wanna "hardcore dance floor", so they use that to divide the fans in half, what the fuck is this, a republican vs democrat convention? And when is the last time you heard a crowd come together and chant a band's name for an encore? WITHOUT the band asking for it. It seems more and more over time bands come back out to next to silent crowds because everyone is too cool in front of their friends to chant and yell something. Actually in the last year or so I've seen more and more bands not even do the encore anymore. Which is fine with me, no one asks for one anyways. This aint a rap concert where you're trying to show off your blink ding, and trying to be Mr Joe Cool. So figure it out.
