Rockstar Mayhem Festival

Okay, I'm getting a little tired of how people are just completely ignorant and insulting on this board. I really don't care if you don't like Norma Jean or Atreyu or Five Finger Death Punch. Point is, they're on the tour this year, so they had to do SOMETHING right in order to be asked to play. Get used to it, and if you really don't like them enough that much to want to boo them off the stage then don't go, it's that simple. Also, Norma Jean, Atreyu, and Five Finger Death Punch are ALL genres of metal, they are just different genres than what I guess most people like on the tour. While I don't plan on enjoying Norma Jean too much on the tour, I still am looking to see both Atreyu and Five Finger Death Punch because while they are not the metal everyone wants on the tour, they are still at the least decent bands with talent. Also, Atreyu is not "emo", I'm getting kind of sick of that one too. And so what if FFDP likes to sing about war and stuff? A lot of metal bands do. Hell, Cannibal Corpse has a number of songs about mutilation and other rather violent things. And what about Slayer? Yup, they do too. FFDP just isn't as "heavy" or something. Again, get over it or don't go. The only band I have yet to find good reason to be on the tour is Norma Jean, but then again I haven't given them a chance nor really listened to much of them. I'm sure if I actually listened I would find at least one reason to like them or want to see them live.And stop hating on Christians. So what if someone has a different religion than you. Get over it. I don't think you self-inflated atheists out there can convert the however-many-billions of Christians in the world.Anyways, for those of you smart enough to understand and READ what I just said, it'll be interesting to see the responses. As for everyone else (most of you people out there), I expect a gay/emo/cutter/faggot comment./rant

ATREYU is punk if you wanna argue go to the fucking HMV or whatever else cd shop there is out there thats why they shouldnt be at mayhem

Okay, first off there really isn't an exact definition of, "real metal" so don't try and find a definition, it's different to almost everybody. Lamb Of God may not be considered real metal to some while to others it may be.Secondly, I've been to music stores, and I'd like to know which music store files Atreyu under, "Punk". They're always in the Hard Rock/Heavy Metal section.

if you really wanna get down to it deep purple was and black sabbath was real metal hence hard rock. thats pretty much it lol ti be honest i dont care whos on the tour because i just liek going to go to a festival and just listen to the music and have a good time thats all i meen where im at teh worcester palladium has kick ass shows with more bands than mayhemfest ever will bigger heavier bands so im nto to worried about not seeing alot of bands and big name bands because we see em all the time at the palladium we have the new england metal hardcore festival so yeah

You can't say a lot of bad bands are in punk. Now, I know I'm gonna get flamed for saying this, but I listen to ALL types of music, not just metal. Yes, that includes punk. Some punk artists (such as The Offspring) are actually very talented bands. Also, it's not the EASIEST genre to play, as it's very fast paced and all. I'm not saying there aren't bad bands in the punk genre, however it's wrong to say a lot of them are. Just my opinion, so don't get mad at me or anything. Oh, and I find it very interesting that Atreyu is labeled as punk... Like really? I don't think they sound anything close to punk.

It wasn't a knock on punk, I was just saying a lot of shitty hardcore/metalcore bands are in the punk label there. Including TDWP, A Day To Remember, Atreyu, Norma Jean, etc.

mayhemgod2010 i agree with you completely esp about the palladium. im from acton mass n i go there at least 2-3 times a month. kick ass bands for like 20 fuckin bucks
