"so basically people think their music is too simplistic...I think there are a lot of simplistic bands out there in death metal....all the death metal songs sound the same...same voice throughout...sounds like nothing but vocal vomiting...at least FFDP has some range" This is a stereotypical view towards death metal. When done well, it is an art potentially unseen in any other form of music. I think Five Finger Death Punch are another band that are very egocentric and are less about musical quality. I consider Pantera a good band, and FFDP are compared to them quite often. My main problem with FFDP that I do not have with Pantera, is that Pantera had people who gave me the impression that they love making art. This is all aside from, in my opinion, FFDP making terrible music in comparison to Pantera.

Funny post, Nevermore, plus you hit the nail on the head. I'm not a 5 Punch fan myself, and don't hate them like a lot of people, but will agree they're VERY over-rated. Real corporate made to sell. Linkin Park, Disturbed, 5 Finger Death Punch... All one in the same. But hey, it makes money, who am I to hate 'em for it.

You all can say whatever you want about the band...they're great. Funny how some people bring Pantera into the discussion. When I went to this past year's End of Summer Scorcher, just out of no where, Vinnie Paul shows up. It wasn't until after that show I rwad that Five Finger Death Punch is one of his newest favorite bands. It's cracks me up when everyone begins to criticize bands who are friends. Like dueing last year's Mayhem Festival, so many people were criticizing Marilyn Manson because of the fact that he was headlining & Slayer wasn't. People saying that Slayer should kill Manson & take his place. Once again, in case those idiots didn't know, both of those bands are good friends. Kerry King HIMSELF has even stated that he is a huge, if not the biggest, Manson fan on earth.

I dont know why either. 5FDP is a kick ass band that puts on a awsome live show. I just got to see them live in Dallas on 1/29 on they fuckin killed it. They get the crowd so fired up and they love to interact with their fans. Anyways i dont know why people hate on them so much there music moves alot of people and they support our troops so much. I think they deserve an award. Fuck all the haters!!!

If that was directed towards me, I'd like to say that I never said anything about a Pantera reunion, that's ridiculous. Five Finger Death Punch's sound is not a unique sound, please don't try to claim they are. Their lyrics are unimaginative, cliché, and their attitude is of a negative nature.

FFDP kicks fuckin ass live. ive seen like 4 times n they get the crowd fuckin crazy and the pits as well

Shouldn't you hate the people that over-rate them, not the band itself? Dimebag was amazing, but he got over-rated through the roof after his death. Where's your hate on him? There are now legions of fucking Dimebag fanboys who didn't even know he existed til years after he died. And simplistic? To some extent, yeah, they're pretty simplistic. But there are so many other bands that are equally, if not more simplistic, why not just hate on them too? Or have you felt the need to be accepted on this forum's bandwagon? Hatebreed has some of the most simplistic guitar work I've ever seen in my life and yet they're still amazing, as is FFDP. Do I think FFDP is the next Pantera? No. Does FFDP remind me to some extent of Pantera? Very much so. Strong elitism ITT. I don't fucking get it. Metalheads aren't exactly on top of the social ladder, so you'd think metalheads would stick together. But no. You have whole legions of douche bag "metal elitists" starting shit because they're butthurt and their favorite band has to be the best. That's why there's so much FFDP hate. But this is America, so we all have the Constitutional right to be ignorant, elitist, douche bags.
