Rockstar Mayhem Festival

There is been alot of fighting here on this site about the bands this year, and i just wanted to say a few things.1. Yes this years line up does kinda suck, but there are 12 other bands and you dont have to watch every single band.2. Its really kinda fucked up for the people on here calling others "Faggots and fake metal fans" becuase they listen to a diffrent type of music, Mayhem Trys to get at least all types of metal in their shows from OldSchool Metal-NuMetal, dont put down people who have a diffrent taste of music let them be in their little world, and dont ruin the show for them3. This ones for the Moshers, Everyone is saying im gonna kick some ass in their pits, DO IT with the sound of music pulsing into your body, go for it, thats how us metal heads solve out problems you walk in a pit you are bound to get fucked up, and if you talk shit it will be backed up thats why honestly Metal Heads are the most real people in this world-Keep It Metal, Everything Else Is Just Crap- -Quote from Rock 104.9 Radio Station-

Dude I couldn't agree more. I'm not going to lie, this years line-up hardly compares to last years, but there's still some great bands playing. I actually like the variety of different metal that Mayhem brings on board. Sure, I don't care much for Atreyu or KoRn, but I still respect their music. They play their own style of music and they do it better than anyone else, and nobody should be able to question that. Music is supposed to unite us, not get everyone bitching to one another about how much they don't like other bands. If you don't like a band, don't watch them. Go get high, pound a Rockstar, Beer, or do whatever it is you gotta do to get yourself amped up for the bands you do like. Another thing that bugs me are all these people coming around saying, "Yeah I'm gonna fuck everyone up in that pit!" Moshing isn't even about fucking people up. Yeah, getting hurt is pretty much inevitable, but I think it's complete bullshit when people go out into the pit specifically for the purpose of hurting others. The people in the mosh pit are not enemies, they're there to support the same type of music as you. If you see someone hit the floor, be a fucking man and help them up.

Well, I couldn't read all of that, but that isn't your fault, it's the way this board is set...I can't stand reading walls this way. But what I read was a good point. And hell, even if you don't like the band you CAN still watch them. I've seen plenty of bands that I didn't want to say and when they were done I was like..."huh...that was kick ass." Almost everything is better live, especially if the crowd is into it.

I really don't care much for this years mayhem. Why? Not because the bands "suck". But because I have seen everyone on this years fest I have seen already except Zombie. Simply because I missed Ozzfest 2005 for a shit reason.

Ive seen all the bands except for one, but out of the twelve there's 3 I like and 7 that I would consider my all time favorites, and I have seen some of them alot(hell 4 or 5 Ive seen over 10 times each) but its a festival, a chance to see so many bands, and even though Ive seen almost all of them that means I know itll be a good show

I have seen every single band on this bill, and thats also a good point why it isnt as strong a s a line up. Where are the fresh faces and the new talent?? Ive seen Zombie, Korn, Lamb of God, Hatebreed, and Chimaira all 7 or more times! So while I want to see these bands, Lamb is the only band Im truely pumped to see. And thats only because thier pits in the lawn are so brutal.

the first mayhem had the best set list. disturbed and slipknot. that show kicked ass! 09 mayhem in my opinion sucked. slayer was boring and Manson got redundant. and the side bands were terrible. this year at least there will be a few bands that don't puke their brains out on every song.
