I agree with the OP. They gotta go with what they think will sell the most tickets. Not what the elitists out there think are more metal. I predict next year it'll be more towards the heavier stuff and the death metal and all that. They'll probably switch it up every year. It keeps it fresh.

I agree 100 with CHIP. Mayhem did the whole "death metal" scene last year. Why would they do that every year? Trust me, if they did, Mayhem Fest would be over as they wouldn't make enough money to keep it going.

Am I the only one to notice a possible pattern emerging? Personally, this years line up reminds me alot of the 2008 line up. Maybe next year will be just as brutal and 'metal', possibly even more, as the 2009 line up.Just sayin', bro.

In my opinion this is one of the best line ups so far. I'm not worried about what kind of metal it is. I go by what sounds good. Korn and Rob Zombie are veterans and were the best about 10 years ago and still in my opinion are better than alot of that crap out there today. Then you got FFDP and Lamb of God which makes it even better. That's all I need for a good show and the problem is, I won't even be able to see it cause 2 hours away is the closest it gets to me. i feel like I've been robbed. Last year I could've seen the tour no problem but saw crue fest instead cause I only wanted to see Manson and now this year I would die to see this sow and I can't!

A troll? I've been to the last two Mayhem Fests and have posted on Mayhem forums for 2 years. I don't think you have room to call anyone a troll.

I've been to every OZZFEST since 97 and I went to the first 2 years of Mayhem. Every show has shit bands and every show has great bands. I think all around this is one of the best line-ups of any fest that I've been to. And I like every kind of metal out there. I hate all the sub-genre bullshit. Sure there are death metal bands that I would love to see on here and that deserve to be on here. But oh well. There are other tours and other shows with death metal bands on them. So yeah I agree with Chip. I just cannot believe everybody bitching about this year. I think it's gonna be incredible. Except for Norma Jean and Winds of Plague (IMO).
