I've never seen a bigger group of crybabies in my life regarding a concert. The people on this board have to realize that the organizers of this festival get bands that will draw crowds and sell tickets. They're not concerned with how "metal" or mainstream a band is as long as they draw a crowd. Who do you honestly think the average Joe would be more excited to see, Korn or Cannibal Corpse? Korn is the obvious choice as they are much more mainstream and have a larger fan base. Getting bands like CC, Behemoth, etc. caters to a smaller fan base than Korn or Rob Zombie. Bottom line, bands like Korn sell more tickets. The next part of my rant concerns people's use of the word "metal". I've read a number of rants that say this lineup isn't "metal" enough and any true "metalhead" would hate it. I'm a bit lost with this statement as people seem to be using the word metal very generically. In case some some people don't understand what I mean, let's break down the different genres of heavy metal to make it a bit easier to comprehend. Let's see, we have Glam metal, death metal, doom metal, nu-metal, thrash metal, black metal, British new wave metal, early, metal, etc. etc. You can basically find a genre of metal for any band out there, hence it makes you sound extremely unintelligent in saying that this lineup isn't "metal" enough. All of these band can be classified as metal in some regard and saying otherwise shows you narrow vision and ignorance. Now if one said their isn't enough death metal or black metal on this lineup, then that would be an accurate statement from your standpoint. For those who are so upset about the band selection I have a simple piece of advice for you, don't go. Each show will still sell out or come darn close as the bands playing this year draw crowds. That doesn't mean they're "selling out" as some accuse, it means that they have bands that know how to put on a great show and will sell tickets. I have seen almost all the bands on this list at least twice and have never come away disappointed.

i'd have to agree, my only complaint is the fact that they removed quite a few venues from the tour this year that have been on it the last 2 years

Here’s my thing with this line up, While it isn't that bad. Their isn’t one Death Metal Act on this bill, while last year had 4 or 5. Which I will agree that was too many to get your average Joe rocker to come to the show last year. But don’t go from 4 or 5, to none. Because now the guys that were there for Cannibal Corpse, Behemoth and Slayer last year. Have no one they want to see this year. Now luckily for me I have a very diverse taste, so I can get down on some Korn and Zombie, and I’m super pumped for Lamb of God, Chimaira, Shadows Fall, and Hatebreed. But I’m disappointed that they didn’t go out and get at least one or two Death Metal acts!! While this is a diverse line up, they left out the real brutal shit, and replaced it with Atreyu??

the obvious reasoning is because Atreyu has a lot more fans than 4 or 5 death metal bands put together, don't get me wrong i like everything from atreyu to whitechapel

the 1st year didnt have death metal, they had one deathcore band(Suicide Silence), last year had 2 death metal, one black metal, and 2 deathcore, now this year they have one deathcore(Winds of Plague), last year also didnt have any hardcore bands(like the 1st year) or hard rock bands(like the 1st year) or power metal(like the 1st ye.....well you know). The tour needs to diversify to stay alive, all the people here bitching clearly got spoiled last year having a stage that was all heavier bands(death, black, etc). In all the years of Ozzfest you could count on one hand the number of death metal bands that played(Black Dahlia Murder, Nile, Soilent Green, Goatwhore). These are the same kind of people that probably bitched in 2004 when Ozzfest dropped all the nu-metal bands.
