Do you think mayhem fest is possibly selling out on talent music wise and stage presence wise? Thats a great question for all the die hard metal fans out there to answer ..

Nah. I think they're just trying to get their name out there more. I'll agree, this lineup isn't as good compared to the past two years. But I think it's still a good lineup for a metal show.

By selling out do you mean having bands on the tour that get their occasional radio play? If so, then NO. Just because their are bands on this tour that are more, to be honest, popular, that doesn't mean they have sold out. Besides, it's a business. They are trying to make money.

You have to have some mainstream bands that will fill the seats.

i dont think their selling out, its just the mechanism of buisness. Everyone wants their fav bands to play but what good is it for the festival if their not meeting a financial surplus. They gotta mix it up just right so the developers, bands and fans win in some way but people dont understand or dont care about the mechanism of how it all works they just want their bands to play if not its not good enough for them.

I wouldnt say they are selling out. You always have to have a mainstream act or two, if you want to fill a pavillion. But at the same time I was tottaly thinking we would get some solid Death Metal acts, like last year. I was really hoping for Amon Amarth, Meshuggah, Suffocation, Gojira, and even Opeth. :( So heres to hoping some of thoes bands land Ozzfest!!

i think they tried so hard to be accepted as an annual summer tour that they just went all out for the first two years which were a fun ass time but now they kinda have to settle for other bands because you cant make kickass bands play two years in a row. plus. all the deathcore bands are on warped. which i find funny but yet appreciated

those bands wont be on Ozzfest, and last year ticket sales werent as good because the lineup didnt draw enough of the mainstream crowd, having a stage with all death metal was a bad idea, the whole point of this tour orginally was variety, even Summer Slaughter last year was playing smaller venues than the previous years(same thing had happened to Sounds of the Underground)

and this year has by far the biggest lineup when it comes to established bands, most of the acts have 4 or more albums and have done every tour imaginable(Warped, Ozzfest, Family Values, Sounds of the Underground, Projekt Revolution, Tattoo the Earth, Gigantour, Summer Sanitarium) youre taking tried and tested acts and giving people there money's worth
