Honestly, I looked at the lineup and was fairly disappointed. Despite me on the bandwagon thinking that half the metalcore on the tour this year is not "real metal," that is not the reason I am disappointed. I am disappointed because last year, and the year before, Mayhem provided a variety of different genres to metal. Last year, for instance, there was Behemoth, a Blackened Death Metal Band. Cannibal Corpse, amazing Death Metal. Sure there was still metalcore and deathcore last year, but there was something for people like me who do not like deathcore and metalcore.This year, with the exception of 5 bands (Rob Zombie, Korn, 3 Inches of Blood, Lamb of God), you get metalcore and deathcore. Other than that, theres no real good death metal band on the bill, and no real good black metal band on the bill. Therefore, I dont see why I should go for 4 bands since I dont even like FFDP. Perhaps Ozzfest will be better.
