Dirtfedd Playing Mayhem This Summer

Dirtfedd  will be joining Upon a Burning Body and I The Breather on Headbang For The Highway Presents The SUMERIAN RECORDS STAGE this summer on Mayhem

Dirtfedd was formed in April of 2002 in Lincoln, Nebraska. 

 
A local buzz was quickly created surrounding Dirtfedd's aggressive style, and unpredictable live shows. The group was banned from a local venue, The Ranch Bowl, due to "nudity and lewd behavior" during their performance. 


In 2006, Dirtfedd was introduced to M. Shawn Crahan of Slipknot by Sophia John after a local show in Omaha. Shawn approached the band regarding his interest in producing them. Under Shawn's guidance, the band signed to E1 Music/Sopra Evil in 2007. They released their debut album The American Nightmare, which was produced by M. Shawn Crahan of Slipknot, in July 2008. Since then, 

Dirtfedd has toured and shared the stage with Slipknot, Korn, DevilDriver, Hatebreed, In Flames, Clutch, GWAR, American Head Charge, Sick Of It All, Corrosion of Conformity, All That Remains, The Used, Shadows Fall, Lamb of God, Unearth, and many others

First of all, I've known these guys since they started Dirtfedd when they were all 19 or 20. So no, I'm not one of their 12 "retarded" fans that go to every show because I "worship" them. I've been in local bands for many years, so don't talk like you're part of some elite group that knows something no one else does. In the 10+ years I've known them, I've never once seen them disrespect another local band, or even talk shit about one. The only time I've ever seen them confront another band, is when that band was blatantly disrespectful and cuntish to every other band that night. Everything you've said so far completely spells out why Lincoln's local metal/rock scene has been dying rapidly over the last 6 to 8 years. A band from your town is doing something incredible, and all you can do is shit on them. God forbid other bands be excited for them in hopes of some attention actually being brought to Lincoln! Instead it's all jealousy and cheap shots. Calling their fans retarded, saying their worse than Slipknot, calling them big-headed drunks, saying they sucked someone's dick to get on Mayhem....don't you see how ridiculous and childish that all sounds?! So the whole retarded fan worship, local band dick riding, I'm a musician and you're not bullshit is out the window. I'd be curious to hear the real reason why you're unhappy that Dirtfedd is on Mayhem this summer. Congrats man, you sucked me into my first internet argument EVER. But, I'm willing to bet this is not your first. So like I said before...good luck to you.

SeekDestroy. You must be one of those same 12 fans that go see EVERY show because you worship them. Sorry but the rest of us musicians here in Lincoln already know the reputation this band carries and you can back em up all you want, that's fine by me, but it doesn't make what I and many others have experienced dealing with these guys. And your right, they don't really sound like slipknot, in fact, they are kinda worse than slipknot. But you can keep ridin your favorite local bands dick all day long buddy. The rest of us musicians already know what this band, and their retarded fans, are all about.

Ikill4unow, you couldn't be further from the truth. I've known the guys in Dirtfedd for years. They have always been nothing but supportive and kind to other local bands, regardless of the other bands' shitty attitudes or egos. In fact, Brock the drummer goes out of his way to help younger local bands get shows and opening spots for nationals that they otherwise wouldn't be able to get themselves. It's one thing to criticize their music because it's not your cup of tea, but attacking them as people is way out of line. They are the most humble and grateful group of guys I have ever met, ESPECIALLY in the local scene! Also, I don't get the Slipknot comparison. They sound nothing like Slipknot. You're probably in a local band, and your post makes you come off as a bitter, jealous cocksucker. Good luck my friend.

Wow they got these assholes on the bill? The guys vocals are a fucking joke! They also want people to give them money to record a 6 song EP, they're asking for 22k? Seriously? All to be produced by a man from an even shittier band. Wonder who's dick they sucked to get this gig. I've seen em a couple times, they have absolutely no respect for any other local musicians in Lincoln, ne. So over half the bands here in Lincoln won't play with them anymore since they think that because they've opened up for a few big names, that they ARE Lincoln now. Big headed drunk assholes is what I know em for, and the music, well, can you say "I wanna suck Slipknots cock?"
