The Lineup Is Revealed… 2012 Mayhem Announcement

The main stage for this summer's Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival will feature Slipknot, Slayer(pictured below) and a major special guest which will be announced on March 5th. The fourth slot on the main stage will feature a rotation of The Devil Wears Prada, As I Lay Dying and Asking Alexandria

In 2012 the tour has upgraded the production on the festival stage and this year the Jagermeister Stage will feature a special headline set by Anthrax supported by a rotation of The Devil Wears Prada, A I Lay Dying and Asking Alexandria, along with Whitechapel, High On Fire and the Jagermeister opener. Please note that bands may vary per market.



Mayhem will kick off the 26 date trek across the U.S. beginning on June 30th at the San Manuel Amphitheater in San Bernardino, California and ticket sales kick off on April 6th with the GET OFF YOUR ASS pre-sale ticket promotion.

Corey Taylor of Slipknot says “You knew we'd be back. Now, you know we're coming. This will be a tour people will scarcely want to miss. It will definitely be a show to remember. Can't wait to see the states again from behind a mask.”

Slipknot’s, Clown states “Slipknot is headlining this summer’s Mayhem festival and it’s going to be unlike anything you’ve ever felt, sensed, or seen. You miss this, you miss everything. Everyone seems to think that there’s a chance we’re gonna go away. This is the farthest thing from the truth. Stay sic and don’t ever judge us.”

“Mayhem 2012 might just be the last and greatest metal festival before the world ends!! So wreak havoc and go out in style!!” adds Tom Araya of Slayer.

Slayer’s Kerry King comments “ We can't wait to get rolling on Mayhem 2012! Been 3 years since we played it last, and it's gonna be brutal!!! You can't go wrong with Slayer and Slipknot, pure fucking mayhem!!!!

The 5th annual Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival will also feature ROCKSTAR Metal Mulisha Jump Team, on select dates.

Is anyone else bummed about Machine Head not on the lineup?!? I know they were last year, but unfortunately I had to cancel my plans last minute. I heard they were awesome! I'm definitely going to catch their show at the AVALON on February 17th. Is anyone else in the LA area going!?

People are probably geting the idea for motor head from the the big4 tour over in europ where them slipknot, in flames, mastodon, and another band that i can't thank of that did a cover of am i evil. There my have been other bands but i dont thank vh1 classic showed the whole show when they play it on tv but not sure could be wrong.

I thought the line up was great last year after it was to late to try and go. This years fucking awesome!!!!!!! SLIPKNOT,SLAYER, and ANTHRAX I'm making plans to go to the blossom show SLIPKNOT back in Ohio HELL YEAH!!!!!!! cant wait to see them slayer and anthrax live for the first time. Oh and one thing if you don't like slipknot SHUT the fuck up please I'm sick of people talking shit about them you don't like them then don't lessen to them if you even have its called hardcore metal for a reason or shock rock band to for that matter. As for the guest band I'd take mastodon, in flames or one of the other BIG4 bands!!!!.

Slayer,Anthrax,Motorhead-worth the price of admission-now yo can take slipshit and asking alexandria and those other bands out and get Overkill, Exodus and Testament and you got yourself a show. Even with the current line -up, at least you keep us older fucks happy with real music.

Even though this lineup is great, I am disappointed that In Flames is not included. Since they had to drop out last year and are currently on tour now, it just doesn't make sense. They would have made the lineup complete!!

Thankfully, they are playing at the WILTERN on February 7th. There's no way I can miss this show! I have always wanted to see In Flames live!

this is by far the worst Mayhem line-up yet. the first one will always be the best. The Devil Wears Prada and Asking Alexandria? are you fucking kidding me? i'm so glad pussy metal shit has taken over the one festival that i like to go to (sarcasm). i definitely wouldn't pay $100 bucks just to see Slipknot, AILD and Whitechapel. all the others are terrible. sorry. and everyone wants the other unmentioned band to be Lamb of God, which i completely agree....but they're doing Ozzfest. so it's most likely going to be motorhead

I love most of the bands, just thought they would have a few more. I guess it would be better with less bands it would mean longer sets. I hate seeing my favorite bands play just five songs. Love Slipknot and Anthrax (hopefully they play "Got the Time") I like As I Lay Dying and Whitechapel as well. Never seen Slayer but I heard they have blood rain down during "Raining Blood"! Can't wait uber excited!!!!

I understand as a promotor you need to put a popular metal band for people to buy tickets, hence Slipknot. Great choices are Slayer, Anthrax and As I Lay Dying. I hate the rest of the bands on the bill. The devil wears prada wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for that gay ass back-up vocalist in the band. I hope the band you mention on March 5th is well worth it, otherwise not interested in going since I've seen the other bands at other shows with the exception of Anthrax.

Im going for Slipknot, As I Lay Dying, TDWP, Asking Alexandria, and Whitechapel. im not too fond of Slayer, Anthrax, or Motorhead; but i dont hate them. i like some of their stuff but the thing is i dont know too many of their songs yet. and High On Fire in my opinion is way better than Red Fang last year. that band was just terrible at my venue -.- so in my opinion this lineup is pretty well stacked and will probably rack in some cash for the tour.
