@gagefrench91 slayer and slipknot are totally not the same and slayer is way heaveir then slipknot.. both bands are good though... @Brian852009 i totally 200% agree with what you said
Dude, I'm so happy Motorhead is gonna be playing Mayhem! They put on a great show and their style hasn't changed a bit. Good to see them after all these years.
@gagefrench91... Dude Slipknot is no where near being as heavy as Slayer. "More brutal"... Before i Forget, Vermilion, Snuff, Dead Memories.... Yeah those songs are really brutal. Slayer would never write songs like those. Slipknot is an alternative, radio metal band. Slayer are the kings of thrash metal...Slipknot's first 2 albums were the only heavy albums they've released, and those were just heavy compared to all the other nu-metal bands at the time.
@Darkdevout idk. saying that slayer is heavier than slipknot may be a slight stretch. they both do things there own way and when you look at it like that, at least in my opinion, its split pretty even. slayer is a fucking classic but slipknot is more brutal. to be honest id rather be in a mosh with 100 slayer fans as opposed to 10 maggots. both are great bands nonetheless but in there own way.
@crystalwolfe Your right you didn't say they are older, but they are. you said "i like motorhead and all but i would prefer for older metal" then listed the bands. At any rate I'm glad to see you respect them, they deserve it, wait no, earned it. Motorhead has stayed true to thier style, most bands that have been around half the amount of time, haven't *Metallica* which is really sad. There are a few that have stayed the same Megadeth, AC/DC, that's all I can remember right now, the list is short though.
i didnt say their older im just saying the classic appeal is still there and its a better sound/band in my opinion i understand motorhead being a big inspiration and i respect them overall lemmys a true god in metal and no doubt their prestige is not in question im just saying who id prefer
Here I will school some of the uninformed

Shut the fuck up and get the fuck out SlayerKicksRetardAss no one asked you, I am so unimpressed with the youth not really knowing music history. @crystalwolfe really Metallica, and Megadeth older than Motorhead, wow dude get informed, Lemmy is those bands hero man, don't believe me dig through YouTube......you wouldn't have the music you have today without Motorhead.
I hate motorhead, I think they suck. But that's my opinion, so don't yell shit at me sayin they are awesome and shit like that.
What do you mean? is it a problem that 80's bands are playing BEFORE not opening, this is a festival, if you mean as if 80's bands are not metal then you are sadly mistaken, Slayer is much more Heavier than Slipknot.
I wouldn't I'm just saying in the aspect of fitting with slipknot the bands id prefer to motorhead are the older bands I listed
i like motorhead and all but i would prefer for older metal :iron maiden, judas priest, alice cooper, metallica, and megadeth, or too fit in with slipknot: korn, rob zombie, or marylin manson

Motorhead - the name alone stands on it's own, a band that lives according to their own rules. A band that has never sacrificed anything and has always remained true to what they are. Lemmy Kilmister, Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee - what you see is what you get! Lemmy's enthronement as an Icon of Rock happened a while ago and proves that Rock and Roll is alive and exhilarating. (On June 16th Lemmy received the Mojo Icon Award).Fans, new and old, have been bowing to and worshipping Motorhead for over 30 years. Fellow musicians - like Dave Grohl, Ozzy Osbourne ,The Ramones, Guns N' Roses & Metallica have all paid tribute to the Motorhead legend - in one way or another. Lemmy is the undisputed head, gruff and with the typical British humour (despite calling L.A. his home for more than 18 years). Phil Campbell, who has been with the band since 1984, is like a fine red wine - getting better each year, while Mikkey Dee (with the band since 1992) is described by Lemmy as follows: 'Mikkey is fantastic, he's 100% sure of himself, and knows he's the best drummer in the world. The infamous 'We Are Motorhead And Play Rock'n Roll' trio is still a power-horse that won't slow down. More and more people are enthralled by their music and personalities.Motorhead is without a doubt one of the most respected rock bands in the world and made it clear to everyone when they finally received a well deserved Grammy in 2005 for Best Metal Performance. 'Motorizer', a meaty, dangerous rock record, is Motorhead's 24th album and as you can hear - the band is always good for surprises! One gets the feeling that they have not yet reached the peak of their musical output. Like Mikkey Dee says: 'A kick ass motherf***ing record - definitely one of the wider ranged Motorhead records ever released'.'Motorizer' delivers 11 brilliant brand new songs in a never before Motorhead variety, ready to rock the house. The album was again produced by Cameron Webb (Social Distortion, Zebrahead, Papa Roach & Pennywise), who produced the last two Motorhead releases, and much of the recording took place at FooFighter Dave Grohl's 606 studios in Los Angeles. Listen to the record, this band is more than alive and kickin'. Here's the track listing: (Teach You How To) Sing The Blues / Time Is Right / Heroes / Runaround Man / English Rose / Rock Out / 1000 Names / When The Eagle Screams / Don't Die Ashamed / Back On The Chain / Buried AliveHaving completed a highly successful tour of the US last year with Judas Priest and Heaven & Hell, Motorhead continue to answer the global demand for their live assault in 2009. A sold-out tour of South America took place in April, the band is currently in Europe playing some of the summer's biggest festivals, and they will return to the US in September for a real rock'n'roll bill with The Reverend Horton Heat and Nashville Pussy. Without taking a breath, they will then return to Europe for indoor dates throughout the continent, with support from eternally cool cohorts The Damned and Girlschool. In the spring of 2010, the band will commence work on their as-yet untitled new album.
