just cant quite get in to the whole christian metal thing. guess im old school. spent to many years being looked down on by christians for listening to metal, the idea of christian metal seems like a oxymoron to me. AILD and ABR arent bad, but i hate bands with preachy lyrics. oh well, to each his own

my grandmothers head exploded when i put this on.. goodbye nana

Nevermind about my last comment, these guys KICK ASS. Man Made Disaster is one of the best songs I've ever heard. So fucking brutal.

Everybody says that they're a Christian band, but they're really like AILD or ABR because the members are Christian and they have a positive message in their lyrics, that's about it. They don't preach to anybody and they like to see people go crazy at their shows. I've even heard the vocalist cuss so lol they're fast, heavy, and melodic so don't let labels fool you.

@AskingAlexandriaSucks666 IDK, They have a couple good songs. but i know you're with me when i say AA and TDWP need to be replaced with Periphery and Veil of Maya. Periphery and Veil of Maya arn't scene idiots. AA, TDWP need to go back to the fucking Warped Tour

twitchfreak69=idiot. no band forces anything on you so fuck off and enjoy the show. or don't watch any of the christian based bands and miss out on half the festival and over half the talent. ignorant fuck!

THey arent exactly a christian band. Their lyrics are christian based and most are practicing christians, and some arent. but arent a full christian band. Or so ive heard at least.

I saw these guys at The Muse in Nashville last year. They are really good (Better than one or two of the "headliners") and heavy as hell. Glad to see them on the bill. I never heard one preachy thing from them at the Nashville gig. Just a ton of face melters.
oldmetal oldmetal
to me metal is metal anyway you look at it ,,who cares who they add to the line up . its just a day of killer music, beer and bitchez,, and all the tits that are going to be flashed..... so who cares if its christian metal or not..i dont.oh yeah,, seen as i lay dying @ ozzfest 2005, and no they dont push religion on you,, so there`s no need to panic...
TAkETheIRFuCkINGHeAdS TAkETheIRFuCkINGHeAdS
I am overlooking the fact that this is a christian band. Why? because they are fucking RAPE!
TheMetalAsian TheMetalAsian
@TwitchFreak69: Haha u got a point there but put this in mind Christian Metal bands like I The Breather, The Devil Wears Prada, As I Lay Dying, and Betraying The Martrys dont force their religion on other people they just want to spread their word and Their music out to the people, if they did force their religion on other people all hell will break loose and that will be a fuckin nightmare. Plus I really like this band and that just me.
TwitchFreak69 TwitchFreak69
not to bash another religion but FUCKING ASSES MAN cant we have one less christian band? come on... we dont want forced worship while all of us metal heads are trying to have a good fucking time!
TheMetalAsian TheMetalAsian
@AskingAlexandriaSucks666: so ur back trolling again, how bout u get off ur computer and get a life instead bashing on bands u hate because ur wasting ur time doing though. By the way people like u are the ones that annoy me the most.
AskingAlexandriaSucks666 AskingAlexandriaSucks666
Fuck these guys. We already have I the Breather, The Devil Wears Prada and Asking Alexandria. We don't need a fourth band that sounds just like those 3. Kick them off the Sumerian Stage and put in Veil of Maya or Periphery.
TheMetalAsian TheMetalAsian
@Rockguy97: No, they are on Sumerian Record stage while Whitchapel is on the Jager stage.
xAnaxArmageddonx xAnaxArmageddonx
so they just added these guys for no reason then ?? (since theyre not the replacement for HOF) i mean i dont have a problem with that or them but its kinda whatever .
Darkdevout Darkdevout
There is no replacement for HoF
rockguy97 rockguy97
I don't have anything against these guys, but are they headlining over Whitechapel?
SNAKEE88 SNAKEE88
This band is not replacing high on fire and no one knows when they are going to present the replacement
Darkdevout Darkdevout
Fucking gay replacement, WHY MORE CORE? fucking bullshit, I might never come to Kevins shitty festivals ever again.

Mayhem also marks the much anticipated French metallic powerhouse Betraying The Martyrs return to North America as this will be their third tour StateSide in support of their debut effort, Breathe In Life. This six-piece fine-tuned killing machine has a refreshing attitude to modern metal that is certain to take the music scene by storm. Their on-stage energy and overall intensity can't be matched by many, so expect an unrelenting, vicious set that will certainly leave an impression on anyone who is having the pleasure to witness the band for their first time. It is important for BETRAYING THE MARTYRS to use their music to deliver positive messages to the masses. They are looking to help people through their songs with words and idealisms that may help people figure out who they are and what they believe in, whether it be Christianity, a new way of life or just to help people find happiness for themselves. BTM can't wait to meet open minded people that will discuss music, idealisms and beliefs with them. For those unfamiliar, the band is most commonly considered deathcore or metalcore because they use heavy breakdowns similar to Whitechapel or Carnifex, but also combine this with the use of symphonic and electronic sounds and commonly utilize classical orchestral melodies to greatly differentiate them from the pack. The band also uses many key and tempo changes, which gives their music a more technical and progressive sound.
